DPM Koo Departs for the United States to Attend Korea-U.S. 2+2 Trade Talks and Meet with Major U.S. Think Tanks

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yun Cheol will depart for Washington, D.C. on July 24 to attend meetings with major U.S. think tanks and participate in the Korea-U.S. 2+2 Trade Talks, scheduled for July 24 to July 25.

On July 24 (Thursday, local time), DPM Koo will hold meetings in Washington, D.C. with two major U.S. think tanks – the America First Policy Institute (AFPI)* and the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) – to exchange views on the current global economic landscape and future directions for Korea-U.S. cooperation.

 

* Established in 2021, AFPI is a policy institute focused on advancing the “America First” agenda championed by President Donald Trump.

On July 25 (Friday, local time), DPM Koo will participate in the “2+2 Trade Talks” alongside Minister for Trade Yeo Han-koo. The meeting will also be attended by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer (USTR).
