Switzerland’s International Institute for Management Development (IMD) announced the World Competitiveness Ranking for 2024 on June 18. Jumping eight places compared to 2023, Korea ranked 20th out of 67 countries to mark its highest position since it was included in the evaluation in 1997. Among the 30-50 club countries (nations with a per capita income of over $30,000 and a population of over 50 million), Korea ranked second only to the United States (3rd → 2nd).
