ASEAN+3 Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting to Discuss Financial Cooperation in the Bloc

From April 3 to 4, ASEAN+3 (Korea, China, and Japan) Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting[1] and Korea-China-Japan Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting[2] will be held in Luang Prabang, Laos.

 

The meeting aims to carry out a final review on agenda items to be addressed at the ASEAN+3 Finance and Central Bank Meeting slated for May 3 in Tbilisi, Georgia. During the meeting, attendees will exchange views on current global and regional economic trends and policy responses, as well as discuss key issues related to financial cooperation in the bloc, including the further development of the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (CMIM)[3] as a regional financial safety net.

 

Deputy Minister for International Affairs of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) Choi Ji-young serves as the chief representative of Korea, leading a delegation composed of officials from MOEF and the Bank of Korea.

 

The Korean delegation, as the co-chair of the ASEAN+3 Meeting for 2024, will be committed to iron out differences among member states on the agenda and vigorously put forth our own opinions as well with a view to achieving substantial outcomes at the ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers Meeting in May.
