228th Ministerial Meeting on International Economic Affairs
Government Approved CPTPP Entry Plan
Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki presided over the 228th Ministerial Meeting on International Economic Affairs held in a written format from April 11 to 15, 2022. The meeting approved the plan to join the CPTPP[1] that was previously discussed at the ministerial meeting on international economic security on April 8.
The government prepared the plan to join the partnership by reflecting different opinions across industries and analyzing its economic impact on the society and plans on reporting to the National Assembly before the application. Moreover, the government will make its commitment to taking measures to support those who would be affected by this partnership as well as protecting Korean people’s health and safety during the negotiation process.
