G20 FINANCE MINISTERS MEETING
DPM Hong Attends 4th G20 Finance Ministers
and Central Bank Governors Meeting to Discuss
ways to Support the Poorest countries
Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki attended G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting held virtually on October 14 and expressed commitment to work together to support the poorest countries overcome economic challenges associated with COVID-19.
At the first session of the meeting, Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, and representatives from IMF, OECD, WB, FSB from G20 countries discussed implementing Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI), allowing DSSI-eligible countries to suspend official bilateral debt service payments through end-2020 and updates to the G20 Action Plan in fighting against COVID-19. Blueprint reports on digital tax reform and other financial issues were also discussed during the second and third session.
