DPM Hong Calls for Expanding Economic Cooperation
with Countries in the LAC Region
DPM Hong met with Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) President Luis Alberto Moreno on October 7 during his visit to Korea to participate in the 5th Korea-LAC Business Summit held in Seoul on October 7-8, and discussed ways to expand economic cooperation with LAC[1] countries.
DPM Hong hoped that there will be more cooperation projects in LAC countries for Korean companies to join, especially in areas like housing and health care, and asked President Moreno to give constant support to young Korean tech workers who will be sent to LAC countries in October through the young Korean tech-worker dispatch program. DPM Hong hoped that the IDB will be able to provide more chance for Korean talents to contribute to the development of LAC countries.
President Moreno said that there is great demand for young Korean workers in the region, expressing hope for further expansion of the tech-worker dispatch program. President Moreno appreciates Korea’s cooperation with the region, and said he will work to ensure that more Koreans can work for the IDB.
