DPM Hong Meets with WB President Nominee David Malpass
Deputy Prime Minister, Hong Nam-ki, had talks with David Malpass, Under Secretary of the US Treasury for International Affairs, who has been nominated as the next WB president.
The two leaders agreed on the importance of multilateral cooperation, as well as Korea-WB cooperation to help develop North Korea when it abandons nuclear ambitions. DPM Hong talked about Korea’s concerns about auto exports under Section 232 of the US Trade Expansion Act, and US Treasury’s Under Secretary Malpass said he would help those concerns delivered to the US departments of Treasury and Commerce.
